WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
The Treasure Coast Builders Association Charitable Fund, Inc. was established in 1988 to provide scholarships for students pursuing careers in the construction industry. Over the years, the Charitable Fund has evolved to address the growing workforce needs of our region through hands-on career exploration and workforce development initiatives.
Today, we host Careers in Construction events designed to bring local construction professionals directly to young people, providing hands-on learning, exposure to real-world skills, and clear pathways into the trades.
Careers in Construction Week is a week-long, immersive program for young adults ages 18-30 that offers in-depth, hands-on training across multiple construction trades. The program concludes with a career fair that brings together local employers, apprenticeship providers, and education partners to offer job opportunities, hands-on training pathways, and continued education within the construction industry.
Careers in Construction Day takes place on local high school campuses and focuses on early career awareness. These single-day events introduce students to construction careers through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities led by industry professionals. Careers in Construction Day events are designed to spark interest and awareness at the high school level.
In 2025, 27 young adults graduated from Careers in Construction Week, with 9 participants securing employment in the trades or enrolling in a trades program shortly after completion. Through these efforts, the Charitable Fund continues to connect emerging talent with meaningful career opportunities while supporting TCBA members in building a strong, skilled workforce for the future.
